Last week a clash between two rival cults in Andoni
Local Government Area of Rivers State claimed eight lives. According to the rival groups exchanged
gunfire, which led to the death of eight persons.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Asarama Divisional Council of
Chiefs, Ubonile Francis Abadi, and the Chairman of Asarama Community
Development Committee, Ndeendeng Atagwung, urged the state government and the
police to beef off security in the community.
Police sources in Ngo, headquarters of the council
also confirmed that apart from the dead several others including non-cult
members’ sustained injuries from stray bullets in the cult clash.
