Nollywood Actor, Sikiru Adesina AKA Arakangudu Dies.

Top Veteran Yoruba actor dies from what is said to be a heart attack. Veteran  Thespian  Chief Jimoh Aliu said those with him broke the news on Tuesday, He said Arakangudu died after making a noise in his sleep. Arakangudu who died in Kaduna, where he lives, would have been buried immediately but the 10hrs journey from Kaduna to his Home town in Osun state hindered this.

The actor is said to be buried today, Wednesday 10th 2016, by 10am

May his gentle soul  rest in perfect peace.

Two female suicide bombers blew themselves up in Cameroon during Funeral Wake in the village of Ngwetchewe, killing 6 and injuring 30-50 people

The suicide bombers blew themselves up at about 6:20am just when people who slept there were preparing for a meal. 

Teen Jailed For Six Months For Stealing Mattress Worth N8K

A 19-year-old man, Kabiru Abdulahi has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for stealing a mattress worth about N8,000.


The police prosecutor, Mr. Abiodun Fagboyin, told the court that the offence committed by the teenager was contrary to and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Law of Osun State.

Abdulahi, who was arraigned before the magistrate, Olusola Aluko, pleaded guilty to one count of stealing.

He burst into tears and told the court that he thought the mattress had been thrown out.

Aluko, however, gave Abdulahi an option of N5,000 fine. The convict, who could not pay the fine, continued to cry for mercy. The convict was, however, lucky as a man passing by heard his cry and paid the fine. Abdulahi was released after the fine had been paid.

At a press conference held yesterday February 9th, the acting spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Sani Usman, disclosed that the soldiers, 13NA/ 70/10183 Sapper Eric Nwokorie and 13NA/70/10263 Sapper Macauley Fortune, were arrested at Yola motor park in Adamawa state with some unauthorized explosive materials...


 
"Last Sunday 7th February 2016, two of our Explosive Ordinance Device personnel attached to 143 Battalion, 13NA/ 70/10183 Sapper Eric Nwokorie and 13NA/70/10263 Sapper Macauley Fortune were arrested at Yola park with the following unauthorised military items:
 1 Smoke grenade, 2,136 live rounds of 7.62 (Special) ammunition, 50 live rounds of 7.6mm (NATO) ammunition, 5 magazines of AK 47 rifles, 2 Browning Machine Gun live rounds of ammunitions. Others include, 1 Axe, 1 Cutlass, 1 Jack knife, 9 Jungle hats, 11 pairs of Camouflage (9 Desert and 3 woodland green), 4 Military Pullovers, 1 Black beret, 1 Green beret, 1 Pair of number 7 dress, 2 General Duty belt, 12 Army T-shirts, 2 Rain Coats, 2 Water bottles, 1 Pairs of Rain boot and 5 Pairs of Desert boots"he said

Usman also announced that some Boko Haram members were recently killed in  Kekeno, Kukawa Local Government Area and also in Budumri village while their hostages were set free

"Troops of 7 Brigade Quick Reaction Force (QRF), Multinational Joint Task Force, yesterday inflicted casualties on Boko Haram terrorists, thus causing a major setback to the insurgents.
This feat was achieved when the troops staged an ambush against the terrorists at Kekeno, Kukawa Local Government Area. During the operation, the gallant troops killed 5 suspected Boko Haram terrorists, recovered one Toyota Buffalo vehicle, 3 AK-47 rifles, 2 knives, a horse and other locally fabricated weapons .
The insurgents were believed to be on a retaliatory mission following the killing of a suspected Boko Haram Ameer during an ambush by our troops at Kekeno. In another development, troops of 118 Task Force Battalion patrolling Mile 90-Kekeno general area, have killed one suspected Boko Haram terrorist and captured 2 other insurgents.
Similarly, troops of Army Headquarters Special Forces on patrol to Yale came across Boko Haram terrorists camp at Bulagana, cleared the camp and rescued 40 civilians held hostage. Unfortunately, 1 soldier sustained gunshot wounds during the operation. He has since been evacuated and is responding to treatment.
In the same vein, 151 Task Force Battalion of 21 Brigade while on patrol encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Budumri village during which they killed 25 Boko Haram terrorists and arrested 8 other terrorists. The troops also rescued 103 civilians held hostage by the terrorists. They also recovered 1 Golf car and quite a number of motorcycles and bicycles. The troops also cleared terrorists camp at Bolungu village. The same unit also rescued 181 persons and captured 8 Boko Haram terrorists. Among those rescued, were 18 men, 90 women and 77 children. The screening and profiling of those rescued is ongoing before their movement to IDP camps, while those arrested are being interrogated, he said".

Four People Arrested For Robbery In Port Harcourt

Four suspects; Francis Anderson 38, M, Gift David, 18, M, Richard Toria 23, M, Barikwa Godspower, 32, F, were all arrested on Tuesday 9th of February 2016, by the River State Police Command after a tipp-off from a patriotic citizen (bloody snitch, lol) who reported suspicious movement at Ibadan waterfront, Port harcourt.

The state police command said they would be charge to court once investigations were concluded.

10 people are feared dead and 20 injured during a protest yesterday by Independent People Of Biafra (IPOB) in Aba, Abia state when security agencies fired at the protesters.

A source said; ''In the morning we gathered at Ibo National High School for prayers and address by the Aba coordinator''

'' While the prayers was on, we noticed Police patrol van and because we locked the gate, they could not enter. they attempted to scale the fence but could not, Shortly, soldiers came and scaled the fence''

The source also said that no amount of killing would intimidate them as the protest would continue on Friday.

Spokesman of the Ohafia 14 Brigade Army Major Mbaneme Sidney could also not be reached but a source at 144 Battalion at Ukwa West denied the allegation that soldiers shot the protesters. He said the arrested members had been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Doctors Shut Down Hospitals In Imo state

According to Breakingtimes;

Doctors in Imo State have declared a three-day closure of all public and private hospitals in the state to protest their ill-treatment by the police and the Rochas Okorocha administration.

Last week, the doctors and the police clashed in Owerri, the state capital, during a protest against the management of public hospitals and poor treatment of health workers by the state government. During the incident, some doctors were reported shot by the police.

The directive to shut down all the hospitals in Imo was given on Tuesday by the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

The association said that the closure of the hospitals was to express their grievances against the action of the police and the concessioning of public hospitals by Okorocha.

 

In a press statement is­sued by NMA Chairman, Dr Hyacinth Emele and Secre­tary, Kyrian Duruewuru, the association condemned the action of the police, insisting that the police acted the script of some government officials by shooting its members on a peaceful protest.

Emele said that contrary to the police claim that NMA never obtained permission for the protest, it was monitored by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bisong and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of New Owerri, Eric Uchegbu, who came with six vans loaded with armed policemen, escorting the protesters.

He noted that the police vans which have been escorting them, at the Ware House roundabout, turned against the doctors, diverting them to end their protest at the Freedom Square and not the Government House as contained in their permit.

At that point, Emele said the police, who were hitherto friendly, threw teargas at them and shot some of his members with live bullets.

The NMA said it was shocked by the utterances of the Commissioner for Health, Ngozi Njoku, who it said was rejected by the association because she was not a member of the profession.

Good evening guys, my lovely audience...
 I'm really sorry I've been away from the scene for a while, some said I've been MIA (Missing In Action), calling and sending me mails to come back but I have a good reason for that.

I've been in school and to God be the glory I'm done, I finished from Federal University Oye-Ekiti. I would have kept on blogging but it would not be so inconvenient for me and the network in Ekiti state is so horrible. So I decided to take the break, I finished September last year.
